The longest yet

After 12 weeks, 1,300km and 140 hours of training, I am as ready as I can be for what is going to be the longest, non-stop race I ever attempted to finish. Next Wednesday, 19 February I start the Delirious WEST200 Ultra, a 350km race along the Bibbulmun Track in the South West of WA. With a cut-off time of 104 hours it seems quite generous, however not since my time in the army did I move for such distances and without sleep…it will be a delirious four days.

My drop bags are packed and powered by Nutella and supported by drugs, I hope to report back next week about another great run in support of The Fred Hollows Foundation, helping needlessly blind people see again.

You can follow my progress on the track – there will be a link on the website, tracking all of us starting on Wednesday. I am wearing bib #54. Feel free to SMS me anytime if it looks like I have stopped – I just may have a nap on the track….

Thanks for your support keeping me running to help needlessly blind people see again

  1. What an amazing race this will be. The Bibbulmun is my favourite part of the world. I trust you’ll dig as deep as you need to, and find a way to enjoy the beautiful track even when it gets tough. Have fun!
